I'm an editor at The Overlook Press and have been working on a parenting book on this topic, which we're publishing this spring. It's called THE LOLITA EFFECT: THE MEDIA SEXUALIZATION OF YOUNG GIRLS AND WHAT WE CAN DO ABOUT IT. I hope you'll check it out in your local library or bookstore when it's available, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.Juliet Grameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14748091145130933930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1405022718926116083.post-66493711705214315752008-03-17T19:55:00.000-04:002008-03-17T19:55:00.000-04:00The stores sell what is acceptable to people, whic...The stores sell what is acceptable to people, which is a sick twisted idea that the kids are to be treated as individuals at such ages as 7-8-9, hell even to the age of 15 or so, the kids aren't in the mental stage to decide 'right or wrong' on cultural view points, they are still laughing at words like 'booger eater' at that age.

I can't bring a child into a world like this, Liberalism is taking steps for the destruction of this country and it begins with the kids...groups like PETA show pictures of puppies and kids think that all adults kill puppies, thus growing divisions between parents and kids, then the parents buy them thongs to buy back their love.

See the twisted cycle this is leading us into.
:-)Christopherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07783466129652355884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1405022718926116083.post-63442169455467466442008-03-04T19:56:00.000-05:002008-03-04T19:56:00.000-05:00I couldn't agree more. Don't just blame the perves here, who enables the children to wear these items? What child at 7 needs to wear a thong or padded bra? Kind of reminds me of the beauty pageants, are these mothers trying to project themselves through the children?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
