I'm proud of my country every time I see the flag or hear the National Anthem. I'm proud of my country every time I read about how much we've fought and sacrificed in the last century alone to defend freedom. I'm proud of my country every time I remember that no matter who you are or where you come from, you can come to America and build a better life for yourself, as long as you're willing to work hard enough. I'm proud of my country every time I visit the Duval County Veteran's Memorial Wall, where I cannot keep the grief and love I feel for her from running down my cheeks, thanks to the unbelievable sacrifice millions of American soldiers, sailors, and airmen have made for her and for freedom.
Simply put, there is not a single day that goes by when I'm not proud of my country. I love her, and I would fight for her until my dying breath. America has given so much. To say I feel pride for her is an unbelievable understatement, but it's as true today as ever.
Michelle Obama may not be able to understand why it is that so many Americans are proud of their country, and are willing to fight for her, and sacrifice for her. But it's one that's crystal clear to me, and to these Tennessee citizens, and millions of Americans everywhere.
I have to say, I am really loving this Democratic race these past few months. I wonder if either Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton understand what they're doing to themselves the longer they drag this out, the more they talk, the more skeletons that inevitably come out. But hey, by all means, keep it up! They're both doing a great job.
Here's some more, uh, patriotism from that America-loving couple, Barack and Michelle Obama. Michelle once again takes on the task of being the official idiotic mouthpiece for her husband, with glorious results:
Money quote:
Because sometimes it’s easier to hold on to your own stereotypes and misconceptions. It makes you feel justified in your own ignorance. That’s America. So the challenge for us is are we ready for change?
Wouldn't it be just great to have a President and First Lady with such unabashed, seething hatred for their country?
This speech is, apparently, from January so it's a little bit old. But it's just yet another example of how the ObamasdonotloveAmerica, not even a little bit. This is a horrible, terrible, hate-filled, racist, greedy country, and we need the Obamas to come and offer us their magical change, and they'll fix everything for us! All we have to do is hand over control of our entire lives to them and their big government. They know better than we do, us small-minded, racist Americans.
... I don’t know what kind of time-space continuum Michelle Obama lives in, but in my world, there are only 24 hours in a day, which would preclude meeting every single student at your college. Maybe that’s the reason the kids she was talking to might not be pals with all the others?
No, we have to assume that every action taken by every person (especially Whitey) has something to do with wanting to avoid diversity, having stereotypical ideas of other races, and operating on misconceptions, all fulminating in proof that we’re ignorant because that’s how Amerikkka is.
So are you ready for the challenge of change? I know I am. I’ll start today by introducing myself to every single person in my immediate area, especially the non-white ones, because it’s time to get out of my comfort zone of prejudice and ignorance. Forget the job and everything else I have to do each day, what’s really important here is that I take advantage of living in a diverse community.
They’re doing it. They’re fixing my broken American soul, one step at a time. Hopechange!
I'd personally love to see some change from the Obamas. How about less people surrounding them who are race-baiting, hate-filled, America-condemning racists, instead of happily making them their pastor, friend, and spiritual and political advisor? How about we start with that change?
Speaking of Jeremiah Wright, he now has been criticizing Italians, calling them "garlic noses" and blaming Italians (huh?!) for Jesus' death.
Michelle, change your own stereotypes and misconceptions. Change your perceptions, get rid of your own racism. Until you do that, don't you dare preach to us measly little Americans about the changes we need to make.
Looks like Barack Obama's wife may be turning into this election's Teresa Heinz Kerry -- it's Teresa Heinz Obama! Barack may need to sit Michelle Obama down and tell her to keep her damn mouth shut. Every now and then, the Dems make the mistake of saying what they really think, which is exactly what Michelle Obama just did:
Note the applause after her statement -- not shocked silence or gasps. Applause.
Here's the statement:
What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback. And let me tell you something -- for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I've seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it's made me proud.
Michelle Obama was born on January 17, 1964, making her 44 years old. She's legally been an adult for 26 years, and in 26 years there hasn't been one single event to make her feel proud to be an American? There hasn't been anything to make her proud of the strongest, freest, most generous and democratic country in the entire world? Not one single thing? We've made mistakes, to be sure, but the United States is a country to be proud of -- a country that most Americans love and cherish, are proud to call home, and see as worth fighting for. And of course, Dems like Teresa Heinz Michelle Obama don't see any of that. Without their magnificent selves to lead us, this country is nothing but a jungle full of backwards, stupid hicks desperate for someone to take care of us and tell us what to do, what is right or wrong.
One of the things that stood out most to me was the overwhelming egotism of that statement. Her husband is finally doing well, and now she's finally proud of her country. God forbid Barack Obama never launched a political career, because obviously had he not she would've spent her entire life hating America! But then again, she'd feel right at home in the Democratic party.
But remember, we're never, ever supposed to question their patriotism.
War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. -- John Stuart Mill
