Obama stirs up racial tensions for political gain

Breitbart.com:

Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Tuesday that the Bush administration has done nothing to defuse a "quiet riot" among blacks that threatens to erupt just as riots in Los Angeles did 15 years ago.

The first-term Illinois senator said that with black people from New Orleans and the Gulf Coast still displaced 20 months after Hurricane Katrina, frustration and resentments are building explosively as they did before the 1992 riots.

"This administration was colorblind in its incompetence," Obama said at a conference of black clergy, "but the poverty and the hopelessness was there long before the hurricane.

"All the hurricane did was to pull the curtain back for all the world to see," he said.

Obama's criticism of Bush prompted ovation after ovation from the nearly 8,000 people gathered in Hampton University's Convocation Center, particularly when he denounced the Iraq war and noted that he had opposed it from the outset.

Repeatedly, he referred to the riots that erupted in Los Angeles after a jury acquitted four police officers of assault charges in the 1991 beating of Rodney King, a black motorist, after a high speed chase. Fifty-five people died and 2,000 were injured in several days of riots in the city's black neighborhoods.

"Those 'quiet riots' that take place every day are born from the same place as the fires and the destruction and the police decked out in riot gear and the deaths," Obama said. "They happen when a sense of disconnect settles in and hope dissipates. Despair takes hold and young people all across this country look at the way the world is and believe that things are never going to get any better."

Good grief. Yet another liberal calling the Bush administration racist -- I'm so surprised I think I may have a heart attack! Yawn.

Yeah, yeah, I got it, I got it. The LA riots from sixteen years ago -- why are we still discussing this? -- are all white America's fault. We're all a bunch of big, fat racists trying to keep the black people down. The LA riots were just a bunch of people trying to make a political statement, driven to the point of desperation. So they rioted, stealing and fighting and generally causing chaos and destruction. And it's all our fault, and the same thing's gonna happen all over again because us white racists are just keeping the minorities under our collective thumb.

Is this the best that the "articulate", "intelligent" Barack Obama can come up with? If I ever see a liberal black politician have an original thought in his head about race, then I will truly die of shock. Because for liberal minorities, its always the same: keep stirring up racial tensions, blame every ill that befalls a minority group on white America, and never allow them to take responsibility for anything. And always remember: you are a victim! It is NOT your fault! A bunch of black people that you don't know and aren't related to who have been dead for over a hundred years were enslaved by white people (and Africans enslaved other Africans first... in Africa... before selling them to us here in the USA... but that doesn't fit into the liberal agenda)! You deserve reparations!

I'm not excusing slavery, or racism, or the KKK, or anything else like that. But good grief, I am so sick and tired of white people, and/or the Bush administration, being blamed for every single little thing that goes wrong for minorities. Katrina must be Bush's fault -- not the idiot (and black) mayor of New Orleans, who didn't think ahead to use the hundreds of buses in bus barns (which were later flooded) to evacuate low-income families who couldn't get out in time, or the female governor of Louisiana (who waited over 24 hours to contact federal authorities about making Louisiana a national state of emergency).

And of course, the obvious answer to ending the poverty and homelessness and hopelessness that plagues minorities in America would be to send taxes skyrocketing through the roof, and socialize everything, right? Of course the best course of action would be to throw those low-income minorities onto every government aid program known to man, rather than making them take responsiblity for themselves and, oh, I don't know, stand on their own feet?

And since when did Barack Obama want to give hope to people? Wasn't his book called The Audacity of Hope?

Hmm... what exactly is the meaning of the word audacity?

au·dac·i·ty
–noun, plural -ties.
1. boldness or daring, esp. with confident or arrogant disregard for personal safety, conventional thought, or other restrictions.
2. effrontery or insolence; shameless boldness: His questioner's audacity shocked the lecturer.
3. Usually, audacities. audacious acts or statements.
- Synonyms:
1. nerve, spunk, grit, temerity, foolhardiness. 2. impudence, impertinence, brashness.

The nerve of hope... the insolence of hope... the shameless boldness of hope... yep, audacity just had a better ring to it. I'm sure that Obama truly wants to inspire hope for minorities. A liberal would never try to stir up racial tensions for their own political gain. Just ask Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

Hollywood finally finds Heaven!

In their own twisted sense, at least.

From World Net Daily:

A man who is believed to have killed up to 100 million people in his life is to be the subject of a positive $60 million biographical film portrait, if a Hollywood producer gets his way.

"Challenging Heaven" by Steven North will tell the story of the founding of Communist China with Mao Zedong in the role of George Washington.

North is currently trying to romance Beijing into offering support for the project.

"This is a very positive portrayal of Mao, and we are hoping that once the script clears the approval process, China will come forward with services and support," he said.

North is hoping to begin shooting after next year's Beijing Olympics.

"I need an army," North explained.

About 70 million Chinese were killed or died as a result of his brutal reign. That figure does not include millions of Tibetans, Koreans and members of other ethnic groups and nationalities.

In fact, the name of the Mao movie is significant. Mao once described himself as "without law and without heaven."

Only in Hollyweird could this ever happen. Only ridiculously idiotic Hollyweird liberals would find Mao someone who could be portrayed in a positive light. Only a Hollyweird producer could compare a mass murderer like Mao to George Washington.

I'm curious to see what the reaction will be from the rest of Hollyweird. Given how much they love Castro, Stalin, and Chavez, I'm sure they'll jump right on board.

Bloomberg: Get a Life, New Yorkers!

Did the recent JFK terror plot get ya' down? Worried about a repeat of 9-11? New York City mayor Mike Bloomberg has an answer!

"There are lots of threats to you in the world. There's the threat of a heart attack for genetic reasons. You can't sit there and worry about everything. Get a life," he said.

That "What, me worry?" attitude pretty much sums up Bloomberg's advice to New Yorkers on the terror plot. As far as he was concerned, the professionals were on it, so New Yorkers shouldn't let it tax their brains.

"You have a much greater danger of being hit by lightning than being struck by a terrorist," he added.

"In terms of what you as individual on the streets should worry about is not whether the person sitting next to you on the subway is a terrorist. The likelihood of that is so small it is not something you should worry about," Bloomberg said.

New Yorkers were disinclined to agree:

New Yorkers say Bloomberg is entitled to his opinions, but not everybody agrees with him.

"I feel that he's definitely wrong about that because terrorism right now is at its all-time high since 9/11. Everybody wants to be a terrorist and blow something up," one New Yorker told CBS 2 HD.

"We're always going to be a major hit for terrorism. After 9/11, you never know," another added.

But fear not, you wimpy Americans! Bloomberg and his team of "experts" are on the case, and there is nothing that any of us need to worry about! The threat of another terrorist attack is miniscule! And if you worry about terrorism, then you need to get a life!

Except, you know, there's all those terrorist plots we keep foiling. Obviously, the terrorists aren't giving up. And I'm sure on September 10, 2001, the entire country with the exception of the Clinton administration would have listed planes flying into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a Pennsylvania field killing over 3,000 Americans as an impossible thing that could never happen.

But don't worry. Stop thinking about terrorism. It won't happen again. Right, Mayor Bloomberg?

Except as soon as we do that, that's when it'll strike again.

Al-Qaeda claims they killed the remaining two soldiers, but offer no proof

From Fox News:

An Al Qaeda-umbrella group claimed its militants killed three American soldiers after capturing them last month in Iraq, according to a new video released Monday.

"The Americans sent 4,000 soldiers looking for them and ... fearing that this will have bad repercussions, the state of Islam decided to and announced their killing making it a bitter result for the enemies of God because they were alive and then dead," said an unidentified voice on the video, which was made available to The Associated Press by the Washington-based SITE Institute.

The video does not offer any proof that the soldiers were killed and does not show the soldiers. The militants said in the video that the soldiers were buried, but again, did not offer proof. The unidentified voice blamed their deaths on: "The American army and their leaders, who do not care for the feelings of the soldiers' families."

The 10-minute, 41-second video shows black-and-white, nighttime footage of what the group said was the ambush that led to the soldiers' capture. But this footage was grainy and unclear.

Gunshots could be heard in the video, which at the end shows close-ups of two identification cards.

A U.S. official said the military ID cards appeared to be authentic, but more analysis was needed to confirm this.

Hot Air has an excerpt to the video here.

Keep praying for those soldiers and their families.

Ahmadinejad starts a "countdown" to Israel's end

From Reuters:

Iran's president said on Sunday the Lebanese and the Palestinians had pressed a "countdown button" to bring an end to Israel.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who triggered outrage in the West two years ago when he said Israel should be "wiped off the map", has often referred to the destruction of the Jewish state but says Iran is not a threat.

"With God's help, the countdown button for the destruction of the Zionist regime has been pushed by the hands of the children of Lebanon and Palestine," Ahmadinejad said in a speech.

"By God's will, we will witness the destruction of this regime in the near future," he said. He did not elaborate.

Iran often praises the Palestinians for what it says is their resistance against Israeli occupation. Tehran also described the war last summer between Hezbollah in Lebanon and Israel as a victory for the Iranian-backed group.

I guess we should celebrate, eh, Jimmy Carter? I mean, according to liberals, Israelis are living in land that they "stole" from Palestine, and Palestinians are peaceful people who keep getting provoked unnecessarily by the violent Zionists. It's apartheid, right? Those damn Israelis deserve it. If we hadn't helped them out so much, 9-11 never would've happened... if you believe leftist drivel, anyways.

Islamic website says it has video of missing soldiers

From the AP:

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - An Islamic militant Web site said Monday it would soon release video clips showing the capture of three American soldiers who disappeared in Iraq in mid-May. The body of one soldier was later found, but the other two remain missing.

The Washington-based SITE Institute said it had obtained the 10-minute, 41-second video that shows the planning stages and kidnapping operation as well as footage from after the attack.

The institute, which monitors militant Web sites, said the video also shows the identification cards of the two of the soldiers. A prominent Islamic Web site said in a banner headline said it would soon show the video, but it was not yet posted.

Does this mean the other two soldiers are still alive? Let's hold out hope for now. Be sure to keep the soldiers -- and their families -- in your thoughts and prayers.

Democratic debate tougher than cotton balls!

CNN and Wolf Blitzer hosted the Democratic debate last night, with the usual puffball soft questions, designed to let it as obvious as possible how much each candidate hates our troops, democracy, and America. Pull out of Iraq now! Socialize, socialize, socialize! We must submit to the UN!

One of the best parts (for me, anyways), was when Hillary Clinton disagreed with John Edwards about the global war on terror being a "bumper sticker slogan" because... she's a New Yorker , and has seen first hand the effects of terror.

Since when is Hillary Clinton a New Yorker?! Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't she have to purchase property in New York in order to hold a Senate seat there because she isn't a New Yorker? And does this mean that those of us not in New York are unable to comprehend how horrific 9-11 was?

Then there was John Edwards' line, "I don't know if I know what a rich person is!"

Gee, John, could it be someone who spends $400 on a haircut, and then an additional $225 at a spa and salon called the "Pink Sapphire" in "services"? Or maybe someone who made their living chasing ambulances and charging ridiculous fees pretending to be the advocate for the little guy?

Only two candidates -- Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel -- had the guts to mention that Clinton and Edwards both voted for the war initially.

At the end of the debate, each candidate was asked what they would do in their first 100 days of office. John Edwards said he would travel the world to "re-establish America's moral authority" -- because, ya' know, John Edwards just has so many morals! And the first 100 days as president of America should not be spent in... America!

Clinton and Obama both said bringing the troops home from Iraq, although Obama added in national health care. Hillary didn't need to, because we all know how she feels about health care.

Kucinich had the realistic goal of "reshaping the world for peace" and ending ALL nuclear weapons, everywhere! After he's done with that, he and Miss America will braid each other's hair and have a pillow fight.

Other responses included a $40k a year minimum wage for teachers (Richardson), and more ending the war in Iraq (Biden).

Some oddball answers were "restoring constitutional rights" to the country (Dodd), and not actually ending the war in Iraq, but simply reminding congressional leaders that they should (Gravel).

Funnily enough, although Shrillary said she'd pull out our troops now, she still refuses to admit that her vote was wrong. Whatever's most popular at the time, eh, Hillary? Oh, and she also mentioned her husband, saying, "Bill Clinton, my dear husband, would be sent around the world as a roving ambassador." Ugh.

Each candidate also said they'd get rid of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy in the military as well.

Maybe next time, the Democrats will actually get asked real questions... like whether John Edwards prefers cherry or strawberry lip bloss better.

Strenghtening America's Borders, one misspelling at a time

Wow. When I saw this image on Right Wing News, I almost fell out of my chair laughing:

This image is still live on the RNC's website!

First of all, how has this been up without anyone noticing the misspelling? I know I'm a grammar nazi and all, but jeez. And since when is letting 12 million illegal immigrants into our country and leaving our borders porous "strenghtening America's borders"?

UPDATE: The image has now been corrected.

Paris Hilton checks in!

After attending the MTV Video Music Awards as a presenter, Paris Hilton turned herself in to LA authorities, two days earlier than she had to. She was accompanied by her mother, sister, and lawyer to the Men's Central Jail in Los Angeles and then driven to the women's prison in Lynwood where she will serve her 23 day sentence, a plan devised by the LA sheriff to avoid a crush of paparazzi.

According to TMZ.com, she will be in solitary confinement 23 out of 24 hours every day.

Through her lawyer, Paris said:

"I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation. During the past few weeks, I have had a lot of time to think and have come to realize I made some mistakes. This is an important point in my life and I need to take responsibility for my actions. In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make. I want to thank my family, friends and fans for their continued support. Although I am scared, I am ready to begin my jail sentence."

Blah, blah, blah. What I'm sure this really means is that Paris saw poll numbers showing her that over 90% of Americans wanted to see her in prison, and she (or her agent) realized that doing time would be the smarter move for her to make, rather than draw it out with appeals. Either way, it's nice to finally see a celebrity actually have to face the music for, you know, breaking the law.

Stop Amnesty Now

Hot Air always amazes me. Those people are brilliant -- I wish I came up with this stuff.

The RNC has seen their donations drop by 40%, as Americans angrily try to fight against the amnesty for 12 million illegal immigrants that the White House seems so desperate to force on us. But why? That's what I don't understand. This bill is unpopular on both sides of the political fence. They want to give this country away to a bunch of people waving Mexican flags, sending money back to Mexico, refusing to speak English, and refusing altogether to assimilate in any way, shape, or form. Wherever there is a large influx of illegal immigrants, a large influx of crime -- and especially violent crime -- seems to follow. And what will happen to national security when our borders are wide open, free for anyone to penetrate?

How are we supposed to get through to the idiots in Washington, when even drastically cutting back their money doesn't do it?

Don't stop -- keep the pressure on Washington. Hot Air is asking everyone to Join the Cero Peso Campaign.

This is a document with four cero peso notes, free for you to print out and send to the RNC. And while you're at it, send it to the Democrats, too.

Also, don't forget to sign Rep. Eric Cantor's No Amnesty Petition:

The rule of law is vital to the success and character of our nation.

I strongly urge our nation's leaders to oppose the Ted Kennedy Amnesty Bill currently being considered by the United States Senate.

Almost two decades ago, amnesty was attempted - it failed. Repeating that mistake will do nothing to secure our borders today.

America's insecure borders are an enormous threat to our national security - a liability we can not afford in the struggle against gang violence on our streets or in the Global War on Terror.

We must take steps to secure our border, but amnesty is not the way.

Our message is simple - do not support amnesty.

Keep the pressure on. Don't give up. We can send a message to Washington and stop amnesty in its tracks.

UPDATE:

Rep. and Presidential Candidate Duncan Hunter has a petition to build the border fence:

"It’s all too obvious that America is under threat because its land borders are largely porous and unprotected. In response, last year Congress passed, and the President signed into law, legislation calling for the construction of 854 miles of border fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border. Despite this legislative mandate by the U.S. Congress, the Department of Homeland Security recently announced its intention to build only 370 miles of fencing along the border, not the 854 miles required by the legislation. The Kennedy-McCain Amnesty bill, also would cut the 854 miles of fence down to 370.

I wrote the border fence bill and it is not ambiguous. It is not a suggestion. It was passed and signed by the President. It is the law. It has been over six months since we passed that law and only 11 miles have been built. At that rate, it will take us 20 years to build it. If elected President, I will build all 854 miles in six months. In the meantime, it is still the law and the fact that only 11 miles have been built is unacceptable." - Congressman Duncan Hunter

Be sure to sign it.
