Video and transcript

Surprise, surprise -- bin Laden praises lefty voters!

My Pet Jawa has the transcript:
People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of the tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped. Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they agree to spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and the war there, which has led to the vast majority of you being afflicted with disappointment...

In the Vietnam War, the leaders of the White House claimed at the time that it was necessary and crucial war, and during it, Rumsfeld and his aides murdered two million villagers. And when Kennedy took over the presidency and deviated from the general line of policy drawn uup for the White House and wanted to stop the unjust war, that angered the owners of the major corporations who were benefiting from its continuation.

And so Kennedy was killed, and al Qaeda wasn't present at that time, but rather, those corporations were the primary beneficiary from his killing...

This war was entirely unnecessary, as testified by your own reports. And among the most capable of those from your own side who speaks to you on this topic and on the manufacturin of public opinion is Noam Chomsky, who spoke sober words of advice prior to the war, but the leader of Texas doesn't like those who give advice....

The entire world came out in uprecedented demonstrations to warn against waging the war and describe its true nature in eloquent terms like "no spilling red blood for black oil," yet he paid them no heed....

So in answer to the question about the causes of the Democrats' failure to stop the war, I say: they are the same reasons which led to the failure of former president Kennedy to stop the Vietnam war. Those with real power and influence are those with the most capital. And since the democratic system permits major corporations to back candidates, be they presidential or congressional, there shouldn't be any cause for astonishment -- and there isn't any -- in the Democrats' failure to stop the war. And you're the ones who have the saying which goes, "money talks." And I tell you: after the failure of your representatives in the Democratic Party to implement your desire to stop the war, you canstill carry anti-war placards and spread out in the streets of major cities, then go back to your homes, but that will be on no use and will lead to the prolonging of the war....

In fact, the life of all mankind is in danger because of the global warming resulting to a large degree from teh emissions of the factories and of teh major corporations, yet despite that the representative of these corporations in the White House insists on not observing the Kyoto accord, with the knowledge that the statics speaks of teh death and displacement of the millions of human beings because of that, especially in Africa. This greatest of plagues and most dangerous of threats to the lives of humans is taking place in an accelerating fashion as the world is being dominated by the democratic system, which confirms its massive failure to protect humans and their itnerests from the greed and avarice of the major corporations and their representatives....

The capitalist system seeks to turn the entire world into a fiefdom of the major corporations under the label of "globallization" in order to protect democracy....

And if you would like to get to know some of the reasons for your losing of your war against us, then read the book of Michael Scheuer in this regard.

Here's video, and it looks like the one we're waiting for, but I'll wait for 100% confirmation from the White House.

He praises Noam Chomsky as "one of the most capable people on our side". He also denounced “neoconservatives like Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Richard Perle”. He praises Americans for voting Democrats into office, and then chides them for not withdrawing from Iraq fast enough.

Gee, Osama bin Laden, 9-11 mastermind and Al Qaeda head, is happy that Democrats are in office, and wants us to pull out of Iraq. I'm sure that Pioneer Pelosi and crew are celebrating right now, but for the rest of us Americans with our sanity still in tact, it should tell us exactly who it is we should and shouldn't be voting for. The entire thing, as both Allah and Rusty noted, reads like something found on DailyKos.

Special treatment for special crimes

We got a real-life Michael Myers on our hands!
A teenager was charged on Tuesday with killing and raping his sister and beating his niece with a sledgehammer in a crime the sheriff called one of the most brutal he's ever seen.

Walter Smith Jr., 16, was charged with the first-degree murder and rape of his 22-year-old sister, Betsy Mary Smith, and aggravated assault against his two year-old niece, Andrea Costello.

Smith was charged after he recounted Monday morning's events to Spotsylvania detectives, said Sheriff Howard Smith. Based on Walter Smith's accounts, police said Betsy Smith was beaten with a sledgehammer and stabbed before being raped. When Costello began crying, she was struck in the head with a sledgehammer. Betsy Smith, Costello and a 1-year-old boy were then locked inside the room.

A detective found family members of the child, including Walter Smith, in the house, the sheriff said. The detective found the dead body of Betsy Smith inside the padlocked room.

The sheriff said the children were not found until one of them began crying on Monday afternoon and Betsy and Walter Smith's mother, Mary Smith, told Walter to go check on them.

"Her face was messed up," Mary Smith said of Costello, who was the child of another one of Mary Smith's daughters. "I asked Andrea after I cleaned her face up what happened to her. She said she fell and bumped her head against the fuse box."

Mary Smith said she does not believe Walter Smith killed his sister.

"He don't remember nothing he did," she said. "He was out of it or something like that. It was an accident. He don't remember that stuff."

Mary Smith said her son had no history of violence, but said he was on medication for depression.

Quick question for Mommy: if she was there Monday, how did she not notice anything unusual or out of the ordinary? How does it escape her attention that two babies are missing until one of them begins crying later that afternoon? Where was she when said psychopath was beating, raping, and stabbing his sister to death? And how on Earth can she defend him when he not only confessed, but told police what he did and how? Rather than making excuses for him, did she ever stop and wonder how it is her 16-year-old son was able to do something so horrible to his own sister and niece?

Liberals, of course, will be crying if this monster is put to death, because it's "cruel and unusual", which is likely to happen if he is found guilty, seeing as how he's going to be tried as an adult. Personally, I'm with Chuck's suggestion for how best to punish this guy:
As for him, "cruel and unusual" has a wide meaning. As he is familiar with beating others, he shall be beaten daily for twenty four days--one day for each year of his sister's life, and one day for each year of his niece's. Then he will be stabbed--twenty four times--by a trained "punisher" who can stab to inflict the greatest pain, but not kill. Following the stabbings, he shall be beaten with hammers--again, not to kill, but to injure. He shall be raped throughout his punishment, repeatedly by any other prisoner who wants him. He will be a human toilet for all the other refuse in the prison system.

Unusual and cruel? Certainly. But would such treatment be unusual or cruel to him?

Our justice system needs a new position: Punisher. Not simply a prison guard, the punisher is one who metes out appropriate punishment to those who've committed violent crime. It isn't torture, as torture is meant to gain information or achieve some other goal. Punishment in this case is through pain and suffering. If you cause pain to someone else, you should suffer the same pain yourself, in the same manner. If that manner is not easily replicated, it is left up to the devices of the punisher's own creativity to exact the level of pain. If the punisher causes more pain than the convict had through his crimes, we'll underwrite his honest mistakes. One of the ritical ideas here is that now a criminal may think "Wow, I'm not just going to the gas chamber for this, I'm going to be skinned alive slowly and left in the sun for the ants and flies to eat while I slowly die" before he does whatever he is planning. Compared to a gas chamber, that is a MUCH more deterring thought. Also, they may not suffer the pain the exact same way, so they would have to consider the unknown, and not be able to prepare themselves for it or to otherwise "work the system."

I never really understood how it was liberals could work themselves into a frenzy over how "cruel" lethal injection is, or how "horrible" the electric chair is. Here in Florida, our death row inmates get to live wonderfully, and on top of that, are treated to a fantastic final meal.

Take Danny Rolling, the notorious Gainesville serial killer. He liked to torture and rape his victims, but before he got started, he would tie them up and outline, in perfect detail, just exactly what was going to happen to them. He would mutilate their bodies, decapitate them, and all the while, the victims knew in clear certainty they weren't going to survive:
What makes these murders even worse is that the victims were all systematically tortured -- bound with duct tape, and before the rapes and murders were to commence, told them in vivid detail what he was going to do to them.

Imagine how they must have felt. Imagine yourself in their position -- tied up, helpless to defend yourself, and knowing with complete certainty that you are going to be raped and murdered, and knowing with equal certainty that it is going to be in the worst way possible -- brutally, grotesquely, and that death will not be coming slowly or painlessly.

He started his killing spree in 1990 and was finally executed in 2006 -- sixteen long years to live after killing innocent college students. He was convicted using DNA evidence, and through 17 matches between a screwdriver in his possession and pry marks at the crime scene. He confessed to the murders to other inmates in prison, usually in vivid detail, and entered a three-page plea agreement. In 1994, he also plead guilty to a triple murder in Shreveport, LA, of a 23-year-old woman, her 55-year-old father, and her 8-year-old nephew. Before he died, his lawyer fought to keep him alive, claiming the chemicals used in lethal injection caused "extreme pain". How did he spend his final hours? Eating an extravagant meal -- of his choosing, by the way -- of lobster tail, butterfly shrimp, a baked potato, iced tea, and strawberry cheesecake. He was then given the lethal injection and basically fell asleep forever.

That is what liberals deem cruel and unusual punishment, for a monster like Danny Rolling. And I'm sure that if this monster is put to death, they'll cry some more about how horrible this kid's death will be. They can never seem to shed the same number of tears for the victims though, strangely enough. They just don't get as outraged about the brutal treatment of the victims as they do about the "cruel and unusual punishment" of lethal injection.

People like this kid, and Danny Rolling, and the BTK serial killer (and so on) deserve special treatment.

But, that will never happen. What likely will happen is that this monster will be found guilty, and hopefully he'll get the death penalty. If he does, liberals will whine and moan and wail about how horrible and inhumane it is, somehow never thinking to whine and moan and wail about how horrible his crimes were. They'll cry that he was taking medicine for depression, see, so it wasn't his fault, and we should all just give him a break and let him sit in prison, living off of our taxpayer dollars. If he is put to death, it will probably be through lethal injection, and it probably won't be until he's sat in prison for twenty years or more.

Dontcha just love our justice system?

New bin Laden tape coming soon

Here it is:
Egypt (AP) - Terror mastermind Osama bin Laden plans a new video addressing the American people regarding the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, terror monitoring groups said Thursday.
SITE Intelligence Group said an Internet announcement of the plan included a photo of the al-Qaida leader from the upcoming video—his beard, which in previous messages had been streaked with gray, was entirely dark.

The Intelcenter, which also monitors Islamic Web sites, said the video is expected within the next 72 hours, before the sixth anniversary of the World Trade Center attack. The last bin Laden video was in October shortly before the U.S. presidential elections.

Allahpundit is reporting that Fox says to expect it within hours.

Rusty from My Pet Jawa has audio, but I don't think it's the bin Laden tape we're waiting for, just a little preview:
I’m listening to the audio now. Starts out with sirens, gunshots, and panicked people screaming. There is a voice over in Arabic. Very menacing. Not at all like the usual. There’s shouting and screaming, and gunshots. Very different than most of these types of audios which are usually calm sermons with nasheeds (music) in the background.

No bin Laden audio, but towards the end of the audio is a nasheed praising Osama bin Laden. Then gunshots. Then it ends. Scary.

Sounds threatening to me. And considering that I monitor a lot of this stuff, if I even think its scary, then I think that’s saying something. It may not be a direct specific threat about an impending attack, but it is a general threat. And it reminds us of exactly who it is we’re fighting.

I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for updates.

Kucinich: I won't bless that occupation with my presence

Let us all hail to the almighty altar of Dennis Kucinich, Democratic presidential candidate whose presence is such a gift and blessing to us all!

Apparently, our troops in Iraq are not worthy of the wonderful and magnificent Kucinich's presence (emphasis mine):
After praising Syria following a meeting in Damascus with President Bashar Assad, Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich declared he will not visit troops in Iraq during his Middle East tour because he considers the American military presence in Iraq to be illegal.

"I feel the United States is engaging in an illegal occupation ... I don't want to bless that occupation with my presence," Kucinich said in Lebanon, according to the Associated Press. "I will not do it."

The Ohio congressman accused the Bush administration of destabilizing the Middle East and praised Syria for receiving Iraqi refugees.

"What most people are not aware of is that Syria has taken in more than 1.5 million Iraqi refugees," Kucinich said, according to the AP. "The Syrian government has actually shown a lot of compassion in keeping its doors open and being a host for so many refugees."

Those soldiers are just beneath him, see? Unworthy to lick his boots, let alone lay eyes on him.

Visit Iraq... sheesh. Why on Earth would a wonderful Democrat like him do that, when he can visit a terrorist state like Syria and undermine U.S. policies instead? I mean, Syria is right there with Iran in aiding terrorists in Iraq, not to mention giving all kinds of support to Hezbollah and Hamas. No wonder Kucinich loves them so much! They want to destroy the United States, too!

Again... this is what we call treason. Giving comfort and aid to enemies of the United States used to land you in front of a firing squad.

Not so in the kinder, gentler United States. Larry Craig is dangerous, and Kucinich isn't.

We should all kneel at his altar, and pray to be worthy of him blessing us with his presence immediately... or maybe we can pray at a different altar for him to come to his senses, resign, and apologize to our troops and the American people for being such a traitorous asshat.

See a doctor, or suffer the consequences!

Poor, poor Silky Pony. He seems to suffer from the same affliction as Barack Obama: blurting out anything that jumps into his little old mind.

See, Silky not only wants to socialize all medicine, but he would make check-ups mandatory:
Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards said on Sunday that his universal health care proposal would require that Americans go to the doctor for preventive care.

"It requires that everybody be covered. It requires that everybody get preventive care," he told a crowd sitting in lawn chairs in front of the Cedar County Courthouse. "If you are going to be in the system, you can't choose not to go to the doctor for 20 years. You have to go in and be checked and make sure that you are OK."

He noted, for example, that women would be required to have regular mammograms in an effort to find and treat "the first trace of problem." Edwards and his wife, Elizabeth, announced earlier this year that her breast cancer had returned and spread.

Edwards said his mandatory health care plan would cover preventive, chronic and long-term health care. The plan would include mental health care as well as dental and vision coverage for all Americans.

"The whole idea is a continuum of care, basically from birth to death," he said.

What I want to know is, who on Earth wants the government taking care of them from the cradle to the grave? I mean, even in the best possible scenarios, the government will never do everything right. My perfect government is the one that leaves me the hell alone.

And there are so many things about this plan that are just... scary. I mean, you're required to have mental health check-ups as well? And if your mental health check-up comes back with negative results, then what? Are you forced into psychiatric hospitals? It reminds me a lot of V for Vendetta, with people who are unwanted and don't think the right way being forced into "re-education camps" or killed.

And what if you don't go to the doctor? Are you arrested? Do government officials come bang on your door and force you to go? And if you don't go to the doctor, and it turns out you have cancer, are you refused treatment? And what will they be enforcing next "for our own good"?

As Van Helsing from Moonbattery notes,
From mandatory doctor visits, it will be a short hop to mandatory morning calisthenics, with a two-way telescreen to make sure you're taking part, just like in the liberal how-to manual 1984.

Behaviors deemed "risky" can become outlawed -- for your own good, of course. No smoking, no drinking, no fatty foods... and anything else they declare "bad for you".

And over at Hot Air, a reader left a chilling comment:
Ironically (or maybe not), if this gets put through, the forced abortions are coming if you have a disabled unborn child, cause it'll be too expensive for the "free medicine" system to care for.

Not to mention those folks who have cancer or another life-threatening disease that will cause tremendous expenses for the system. We'll start seeing euthanasia, infanticide, and abortion forced by the government.

This isn't about healthcare; it's about the government asserting total control over our lives. And they call us Nazis?

So much for "land of the free", huh?

A lot of people will read this and say, "Well gee Cassy, aren't you overreacting? The government will never go so far as to engage in infanticide and euthanasia, or to force us to work out every morning, or any of those other awful things you said! He'll never take it that far!"

Perhaps, but once upon a time it would have been considered outrageous to be forced to see a doctor, a dentist, and a mental health professional by our government. How far down this slope will we slide if this system is put into place? When will Silky say "Stop!"? And why should we be at the mercy of the government to begin with?

Again, images of V for Vendetta are just rolling through my mind, with government enforced curfews; certain foods and drinks banned until it's hard to even get food (although never in short supply for the "right" people); only government-approved music, books, and TV shows allowed; and "undesirables" sent to re-education camps only to be murdered, and all of it in the name of our own well-being.

In the same article, Edwards piles on the hypocrisy, liberals' favorite smear for us damn dirty Republicans:
Edwards, who has been criticized by some for calling on Americans to be willing to give up their SUVs while driving one, acknowledged Sunday that he owns a Ford Escape hybrid SUV, purchased within the year, and a Chrysler Pacificia, which he said he has had for years.

"I think all of us have to move, have to make progress," he said. "I'm not holyier-than-thou about this. ... I'm like a lot of Americans, I see how serious this issue is and I want to address it myself and I want to help lead the nation in the right direction."

He wants to lead the nation in the right direction, see? And us little people are too gosh-darn stupid to know what's good for us. Therefore, people like John Edwards and the Goracle must tell us exactly what is good for us, and what to do, and how to do it, and when to do it, and nevermind how we feel about it.

Rob from Say Anything leaves us with a good quote, from the beloved author C.S. Lewis, that I'll end with as well:
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

Assault with deadly Cheetos

In Iowa, they take "dangerously cheesy" to a whole new level! What do you do when you get into a fight with your dad? Why, throw Cheetos at him, of course!
The assault weapons listed on the Des Moines police report was a bag of Cheetos.

Patrick Hamman, 22, of 4904 S.W. 13th St., was arrested Sunday on a charge of domestic assault. Officers explained that the victim of the snack attack, Michael Hamman, lives with his adult son, Patrick and that they became involved in an argument Sunday night.

Patrick Hammon picked up a bag of Cheetos and threw it at his father, hitting him in the face, police said. It hit him in the glasses, causing a cut to the bridge of Michael Hamman's nose.

The police report said: "Michael's T-shirt was also covered in Cheeto dust."

You know, this could solve all of the liberals' problems with guns. Just supply everyone in the United States with bags of Cheetos to throw at people whenever they feel threatened or attacked. At the first sign of a tiny cut on their nose, they'll run screaming!

I can see it now: I'm walking down a dark alleyway, my trusty bag of Cheetos in my purse. A robber comes up to me and puts a gun to my head, demanding all my money. I turn around, stealthily take out my bag of Cheetos, and whip it at him, causing a cloud of Cheeto dust to explode everywhere, giving me time to escape!

I mean, who needs guns?

Chester the Cheetah would be proud that his beloved Cheetos were being put to such good use. I mean, after all... they are wild and dangerously cheesy!

President Bush speaks to troops in Iraq

And just about every source I've read echoed the same sentiment: that the troops welcomed him, were genuinely happy to see him, and that the rafters were practically shaking with their cheers. For all his faults, the President is good with our troops, and more importantly, good to them. It's obvious in the many pictures, videos, and reports in this instance and others that he deeply respects, and is humbled by, them. He obviously doesn't get everything right -- not even close -- but it's instances like these that I remember why I so steadfastly supported him in 2004.

    Bringing Holidays to Heroes

The holidays are coming up, and I'm sure many of you are starting to save for the gifts you'll be giving your families and friends.

But what about those who won't have a holiday with their family? What about those who might not get a gift? Soldiers Angels is there to answer the call, and they have set themselves a goal of sending out 140,000 Christmas packages this year. It's their Holidays for Heroes drive, and it is one I'm familiar with, having participated in it last year. I just received an e-mail letting me know they were getting ready to gear up again:
Soldiers Angels will be sending 140,000 Christmas packages to our troops over in Iraq and Afghanistan this year, with 70,000 coffee mugs which we have already bought.

These mugs will be filled with a hot chocolate packet, a hot apple cider packet, an energy bar or a cereal bar, a pair of white tube socks, 120 minute AT&T global phone card (regular phone cards won't work), and a Christmas card

The other 70,000 Christmas packages will be the same as above, except instead of mugs, they will be Christmas Stockings These will be sent to the CSH's (Combat Support Hospitals) for the doctors, nurses, medics and other personnel that take care of our wounded, and also for the patients that are at these CSH's on Christmas Day

We have to have all of this completed by October 31 so that we can have the month of November to get all of these packaged and sent off so the troops can receive them by Christmas.

Obviously, these goods do not appear out of nowhere. You can help bring the holidays to some of our heroes by donating any of the items needed, or money for postage. To find out how you can help, and where to send your supplies to, contact Bonnie at saalertteam@gmail.com.

A package of socks from Wal-Mart would only cost you a couple of bucks. You can get phone cards for $20. You can help bring the holidays to the heroes overseas who might not otherwise get one, if you can just open your heart. You won't even have to break the bank to do it. Soldiers Angels is a fantastic organization, one of the most hardworking and selfless groups you will find anywhere, and every little bit will help. So don't be shy -- help bring the holidays to the men and women making the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.
