For my fellow country music addicts

I am a country music junkie. Michael does not like country all that much, so the past three months I didn't get to listen to much country music -- I'd go "start the car" for him, while I hurriedly changed the station to sneak in a song or two while I could. I was like a freakin' junkie.

In any case, here's a fairly pointless post for all my fellow country music addicts. The Academy of Country Music has announced the nominations for the annual Country Music Awards, and here they are! My picks for the winner are italicized -- sometimes I picked more than one because, dang it, it's a tough decision.

Wait, they give rewards to these people? Should give them jail time IMO. :)

So, not that it truly applies to the post above, but I'm definitely in love with Taylor Swift...

I'll concede the point that there are some hotties in the country music industry.

That Sugarland song "Stay" is a great song, one of the few songs that have come down the Country pipeline in the last few years that I really thought felt like "country music". Most of the stuff that passes for country music these days is pretty piss poor, IMHO.

Give me Willie, Waylon, Merle, Johnny Cash, George Strait, and the Hanks.

I tend to agree with Eric. It'll come back around though.
